Blast From Christmas Past

So I know that Christmas is over; but I couldn’t share this blog until my sister and I gave our parents their gift. It’s a little different from what I normally write about, but we had so much fun creating this that I couldn’t help but share.

I’m sure you’ve seen those posts online about people recreating photos from their childhood; I was looking at some one day and sent a message to my sister saying we should do some for our parents for Christmas. I wasn’t really sure what she would say, to be truthful I think she thought I was crazy at first.  Much to my surprise, she agreed.  I was so freaking excited (it doesn’t take much)

Truth be told, this is probably a project that we should have worked on over the course of the year because it turned out to be much more difficult than I had anticipated. I was under the impression we would make a trip to the Goodwill and find some “weird” clothes and be on our merry [no pun intended] little way.

However, we got to the Goodwill and discovered that clothes are much more expensive than we thought.  We grabbed what we thought we ABSOLUTELY needed and determined we could probably findthe rest in our closets. Finding outfits was the most difficult part.

Honestly, there’s a good chance that this gift was just as much a gift to us as it was for our parents because we had so much fun recreating the old photos.  It’s amazing that we were able to stop laughing long enough to take some of them. Now that we both have families of our own, it’s not always easy to make time for one another so these moments were extra special.

When we were all done, we put the photos in a book that we ordered off of Shutterfly; if you’ve never been to this site go there NOW (after you finish reading this post, of course)  The end result = GORGEOUS! I was super impressed with how it all turned out and our parents thought it was priceless, they got quite a kick out of the photos.

Now, for your enjoyment, some of the photos:

Like, honestly, how much fun is this? This is by far the most fun I’ve ever had creating a gift.

Merry (Belated) Christmas and Happy New Year!

Did I mention it was hard for us to be serious?
