My dearest Arabella:
A year ago, it seemed like this day was nothing but a distant prayer; I cannot believe we are here already. It’s hard for me to put into words just how blessed I feel to have been chosen as your mother. You grace us everyday with the most beautiful spirit and energy.
To say you have come a long way would be an understatement. I spent those first few days, after your birth, in the hospital asking God why He had done this to us, to you. I watched your tiny body through the walls of the incubator questioning why we were being punished and why our tiny human had to suffer. Life seemed so unfair as I watched the doctors and nurses poke and prod at your fragile body; I was scared to touch my own child in fear of hurting your delicate skin.
Look at you now.
There is nothing more beautiful. Nobody more beautiful. There is nothing I’m more proud of. Than you.
